Abstract Peter Velasco has served in a number of positions in the UFW. He worked as the Stockton, California Field Office Director, as the director of the Strike Defense Fund, was a board member of the Farm Workers Credit Union, and was a member of the National Executive Board member since 1973. Abstract Mr. Kircher went to work in a defense plant in Cincinnati in 1941 and helped organize UAW Local 647. Subsequently, he held a number of staff positions with the UAW until 1955, when he became assistant director of organization of the AFL-CIO.
