Abstract Herman Rebhan was first elected General Secretary of the International Metalworkers’ Federation (IMF) in 1974 and served in that position until his retirement in 1989. Rebhan had previously served with the IMF as coordinator of its World Auto Council Department from 1966 to 1969.
