Scope and Contents

This collection consists of paper media related to Inuit art. Although the collection is primarily focused on the Inuit of Canada, American and Greenlandic contributions are also represented. Materials include exhibition pamphlets, regionally-focused booklets, relevant magazines, and other related documentation.

Biographical / Historical

These materials were collected by Barbara Kohler in the course of her master’s thesis research while she was a student in the department of Art and Art History at Wayne State University in the 1980s. She donated them to the Wayne State University Library System in 2016.

The materials are divided into five series based on type. Within the series materials are arranged chronologically. The series are as follows:
