Series 1: Ford Motor Company, 1951-1954 Boxes 1 and 2 contain company and union submissions and rebuttals with regard to union-management disputes (1952-1954) before the Board of Conciliation established by the Ontario Labor Relations Act. Included also are the umpire's and arbitrator's decisions with regard to grievances between Ford and Local 240 for Dec. 28, 1951; Feb. 4, 5, 1953; and Nov. 2, 3, 1953.

Series 2: Office Files, 1943-1959 In addition to the Dosco insurance plan material there is a "Miscellaneous" file containing a co-op plan, job classes and salary range on Feb. 28,1959. Box 2 also contains the minutes of the A. T. E. (Windsor Office and Professional Workers of America): Minutes, 1947-1949. The Executive Board and membership meeting minutes cover 1943-1948.

Abstract

Local 240 is an amalgamated UAW-CIO local representing salaried and office employees in Windsor, Ontario. This local was certified on March 17, 1944, as the collective bargaining agent for certain salaried and office employees employed by Ford Motor Company of Canada in its Windsor offices. The first collective bargaining agreement with Ford was signed in 1946.

History

Local 240 is an amalgamated UAW-CIO local representing salaried and office employees in Windsor, Ontario. This local was certified on March 17, 1944, as the collective bargaining agent for certain salaried and office employees employed by Ford Motor Company of Canada in its Windsor offices. The first collective bargaining agreement with Ford was signed in 1946.
