The papers of Mr. Hendricks consist primarily of clippings, fliers and handbills, and correspondence reflecting his work as an organizer for the UAW, and especially his work in organizing the International Harvester plants in Evansville, Indiana in 1946, and in East Moline, Illinois in 1949.

History
Thomas A. Hendricks was born August 19, 1903 and spent his early years in Missouri. In February of 1930 he took a job in the Fisher Body Plant in Flint, Michigan and later was elected chief steward in the plant. In 1941 he became an international representative for the UAW and for the next 25 years worked in organizing plants primarily in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. Mr.
Hendricks retired from the UAW International staff in May of 1967.

The papers of Thomas A. Hendricks were placed by him in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in August of 1987 and were opened for research in August of 1991.
