The papers of Mr. Pisarski consist primarily of records of the hearings conducted by panels or special commissions relating to labor disputes between various Michigan hospitals and labor unions. The Michigan Labor Mediation Act of 1939 empowered the governor to appoint panels or special commissions to investigate labor disputes and submit recommendations to the office of the governor. In addition to the reports of the findings of these panels and commissions, there are a few documents listing the members of the various commissions from 1949 to 1971.
