Abstract

Letters of recommendation concerning Mr. Shear's activities on various relief programs during the Depression. He also served as an NRA Compliance Board investigator.

History

Warren Shear was educated at Choate and attended Yale University from 1932-34. While at Choate he organized a Group Farm and Garden Club for unemployed men in Wallingford. Later at Yale he was active in the same types of programs. The Farm and Garden Club evolved into the Work Seekers Club at New Haven. Mr. Shear was also active in a Family Relief program and worked as an NRA Compliance Board investigator.
