As a charter member of United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 306 (Budd Wheel Company), Nora Maczko served as Chief Steward and was active in various committees, including the Women’s Committee and the Political Action Committee. Ms. Maczko’s papers document her receipt of the Walter P. Reuther Distinguished Award for her service to the UAW.
Nora Maczko began work at the Budd Wheel Company, Michigan, in March of 1934. She was an original member of Local 306 which was chartered in April of 1937. Mrs. Maczko was a Chief Steward of Local 306 from 1938 to 1950. She also served on numerous union committees, including the Women's Committee and the Political Action Committee. In addition to her union activities she was active in many organizations of the Michigan Democratic Party. Mrs. Maczko retired in June 1965. In 1985 she was a recipient of the Walter P. Reuther Distinguished Award for her contributions to the UAW.

The papers of Nora (Robinson) Maczko were placed in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in December of 1989 by Mrs. Maczko and were opened for research in November of 1991.
