History

John Conyers served as a chief steward of Chrysler Local 7, UAW-CIO. He was also active in the drive to organize the Ford Motor Company. In 1941 Mr. Conyers was appointed an International Representative of the UAW for the Chicago area. He was later transferred to Region 1 in Michigan.
