Scope and Content
The bulk of this collection is administrative records. Much of the collection features records related to events hosted by the organization. There are three types of travel records: Missions, Visits, and Trips. Missions are a term used for trips from Michigan to Israel with a focus on a particular project or event. Visits represent Israelis coming to Michigan. Trips are travel events to Israel that were not referred to as missions by the MIBA documents.

History
The Michigan Israel Business Accelerator (MIBA) was founded in 2007 under the name Michigan Israel Business Bridge (MIBB). It changed its name in 2017. The MIBB was founded by Charles (Chuck) Newman and Susan Herman following the success of an event at Michigan State University featuring Israeli business and technology. Hannan Lis from Haifa, Israel, was a third co-founder. The first Executive Director was Ron Perry who joined the organization in 2008. It is a 501c3 non-profit business and economic organization with the goal of using business, research and academic resources to facilitate connections between Israeli and Michigan businesses. The MIBA is a membership organization comprised of individuals and companies from a variety of backgrounds and industries including automotive, manufacturing, defense, IT, life science, consumer products, real estate and law. Pamela Lippitt became the Executive Director in 2010. Hadas Barnard was named Executive Director in 2017. Scott Hiipakka was named Executive Director in 2019.
