Biographical / Historical

Jack Conway was a prominent leader in the labor movement, serving as Walter Reuther's assistant for many years. He was also active in politics, serving in the Housing and Home Finance Administration during the John F. Kennedy administration, helping to create the Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as serving as the head of Lyndon B. Johnson's Community Action Program in the Office of Economic Opportunity. Jack Conway passed on January 06, 1998, in Sarasota, Florida. He was 80 years old.
