Abstract

A member of United Auto Workers Local 3, Henry Bartell's papers relate to lead poisoning cases and the Chrysler sit-down strike of 1937.

History

Mr. Bartell was a member of UAW Local 3 (Dodge Main). His papers consist of several pieces of union correspondence, and some performance reports and union bulletins. They relate to lead poisoning cases, the Chyrsler sitdown strike of 1937 and grievances.

Acquisition

The papers of Henry Bartell were placed in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in March of 1977 by George Merrelli, Director of UAW Region 1 and were opened for research in July of 1982.
