The papers of Mr. Amrhein consist primarily of a diary/record both with brief entries covering the period of his hire at the Norwood Chevrolet plant in 1939 until his retirement in 1954. The entries deal primarily with his work at the factory plus comments on the efforts of the A.F.L. and the C.I.O. to enlist the U.A.W. in their unions. included in Mr. Amrheins papers are a few clippings, membership cards, memos, and correspondence.

The papers of George Amrhein consist primarily of a diary which includes brief entries covering the period of his hire at the Norwood, Ohio Chevrolet plant in 1939 until his retirement in 1954, with comments on the efforts of the AFL and the CIO to enlist the UAW in their unions.

History

The papers of George Amrhein were placed in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in April of 1989 by his daughter Mrs. William H. Lawrence and were opened for research in March of 1990.
