The Joan Blount Papers relate to materials from Joan Blount, a former Social Services Coordinator from the Merrill-Palmer Institute's Parent-Child Development Center in Detroit.
Since 1965, Joan Blount has worked with child and parenting development. Blount worked for the Merrill-Palmer Institute as a Social Services Coordinator at the Parent-Child Development Center on East Palmer Avenue in Detroit. In 1991, she worked as a Parent Educator for Wayne State University, until her retirement in 2011. The same year as her retirement, Blount was named Senior Citizen of the Year by the State of Michigan for her service contributions.
