History
Bill Davis was born in 1915 and began his flying career with United Airlines in October, 1941. He flew in the US Army in World War II, and returned to United in 1944. He was promoted to Captain one year later. He was based in Chicago from 1945 to 1956, transferring to Los Angeles
in 1956 where he remained. He joined ALPA in 1943, and worked on various councils and committees at United Airlines. He began his term as ALPA Vice-President for Region V on July 1, 1965, replacing H. B. Anders. He
served on many committees with ALPA.

The collection reflects Capt. Davis's activities with ALPA's Region 5, with an emphasis on California, Alaska and Hawaii. Included are, correspondence, reports and studies. Air safety is another subject of importance.

located at the beginning of the file. Files are arranged by subject or type of material.
Acquisition
The papers of Captain William C. (Bill) Davis, Vice-President of ALPA's Region 5 were placed in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in 1975.

One color photograph of Captain William C. (Bill) Davis has been placed in the Archives Audiovisual Collection. It is reproduced in the 12 Nov 1964 "News and Views Along the Line" found in United Airlines (UAL), 9:16.
