The Sixteenth Annual Region 1B Leadership Institute, held at the UAW Family Education Center at Black Lake, emphasized a participating membership to mobilize collective action in the shops, offices, and community. The topic was "You and Your Standard of Living: Bargaining and Balloting." Records of the Institute document the week-long summer program.
