United Auto Workers Local 742 serviced several companies including Briggs Manufacturing Co., until it became inactive and absorbed into Briggs Local 212.

Arrangement

Arranged in 6 series – Series 1 (Boxes 1-3), Series 2 (Box 3), Series 3 (Boxes 4-5), Series 4 (Boxes 5-9), Series 5 (Boxes 10-14) and Series 6 (Boxes 15-21). Folders are arranged alphabetically.

Acquisition

The papers of Local 742 were deposited with Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in August 1963 by Local 212.
