U.S. Woman Engineer, 1992

 File — Box: 5, Folder: 2
The Society of Women Engineers Publications includes inactive serials published by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). The collection includes the newsletter produced for the society's members-at-large, which was published in print irregularly between 1970 and 2006 under multiple names. This collection includes most issues published between 1984 and 2006, but does not represent the full run. Some earlier issues can be found in the Society of Women Engineers National Records.

The collection includes the full run of SWE’s past national publications. It was first published in 1951 as the Journal of the Society of Women Engineers and included both technical articles and society news. The fifth volume of the Journal was published in 2011 to celebrate the society’s 60th anniversary and explore SWE’s history in more depth using its archives. In 1954 the Journal was superseded by the SWE Newsletter, which focused primarily on SWE and industry news. It was redesigned as a magazine in 1980 and renamed U.S. Woman Engineer. The publication’s title was changed to SWE in 1993. As an active publication, SWE is not included in this collection, but the full run is available for research at the Walter P. Reuther Library.
