Abstract In his teens, Julius Bernstein became active in the Young People's Socialist League and for many years served as State Secretary of the Socialist Party in Massachusetts. Along with his wife, they were lifelong members of the Workmen's Circle and parents to Eugene Debs and Stanley Bernstein.
