Abstract Alex Barbour was born in Montreal, Canada on December 12, 1912. He was a resident of Detroit, Michigan from 1923 until 1967. He first became a member of UAW Local 7 when he worked for the Chrysler Corporation Kercheval Avenue Plant in 1937. Throughout his career he served on numerous CIO Community Service Committees.
