Abstract In 1982 and 1984, for her 1987 dissertation, "A Case Study of Skilled Polish American Automobile Workers in Hamtramck," Patricia Pilling interviewed Polish-American auto workers from UAW Local 235, representing what was then the Chevrolet Gear and Axle plant in Hamtramck, Michigan.
